UV dualcuring adhesives - DELO DUALBOND®

DELO-DUALBOND® adhesives feature a dual curing system that ensures both the smooth running of a production process and the final strength of the assembly. The UV exposure process is the first curing system, allowing the positioning of the elements before handling. Subsequently, the final curing (heat or moisture) will allow a strong final assembly.

Technical data sheet

Produit
  • UV dualcuring adhesive • Cosmetics Industry

The DELO-DUALBOND® AD4950 adhesive has a double curing system, UV for positioning the parts before handling, and moisture for final curing. This adhesive is used for cosmetic applications in the bonding of perfume caps and allows the neutralization of the adhesive in an opaque area and prevents the odour of acrylic acid.

  • UV dualcuring adhesive • Automotive Industry

The DELO-DUALBOND® GE4910 adhesive has a dual curing system, UV for positioning the parts before handling, and moisture for final curing. This adhesive is used for automotive applications in the coating of micro switch connectors on EGR valves and has a temperature resistance of -40° + 160°.

  • UV dualcuring adhesive • Automotive Industry

DELO-DUALBOND® DB140 or DB180 adhesives feature a dual cure system, UV for pre-attachment of the sub-assembly and anaerobic for final cure. These adhesives can be used in complex environments for automotive applications such as water pump or car oil pan drain plug bonding. These adhesives are resistant to engine oils and chemicals.

  • UV dualcuring adhesive • e-motors applications

DELO-DUALBOND® ML adhesives have a dual UV and anaerobic curing system. These adhesives are used for bonding applications in electric motors. Thanks to this family of DELO-DUALBOND® ML adhesives, which have many advantages such as high temperature resistance (+ 220°C), chemical resistance, very fast light fixation, the bonding of magnets to rotors or the bonding of stators is a feasible assembly operation.

  • UV dualcuring adhesive • Electronic Industry

The DELO-DUALBOND® AD761 adhesive has a dual UV and thermal curing system which is used for bonding applications in the electronics sector.

The principle of dual polymerisation

All three dual-curing systems share the UV exposure process, which is the primary curing process for DELO-DUALBOND® adhesives. This UV exposure allows the elements to be positioned and/or held in place so that they can be handled quickly, in just a few seconds.

The final cure differs depending on the system:

  • The {UV + Thermal} system requires UV curing at room temperature followed by a final cure for shadow areas, achieved by heat.
  • The {UV + Humidity} system allows the glue that could not be flashed to be neutralised by the surface humidity avoiding odours or corrosion of components.
  • The {UV + Anaerobic} system allows the elements to be fixed first before the final polymerisation due to the absence of air and the presence of metal ions.

DELO-DUALBOND® adhesives are one-component adhesives. They allow to gain in productivity and to replace certain two-component adhesives in one.

They have a better resistance to chemical aggressions, thanks to the double molecular network present within the same adhesive, as well as a resistance to temperature (from -40°C to +180°C).

Various applications within a process

The applications of DELO-DUALBOND® adhesives are diverse, depending on the curing system chosen.

The {UV + Anaerobic} bonding is found in metal bonding applications, ferrite bonding, e-motor assembly, …

For {UV + Humidity} bonding, we find applications of screen bonding, electronic components, but also bonding on glass, plastic or metal, allowing in particular to neutralize the adhesive on cosmetic packaging.

Finally, {UV + Thermal} bonding is found in applications requiring optical indexing, such as the bonding of camera lenses.
